Festivals

I always enjoyed the festival celebrations at my parents' home. My mother made special dishes according to the occasion. My father, brother and I were assigned tasks to help with the preparations. After the pooja, we used to spend time together, watching the holiday's special shows or movies on TV.
Now my husband and I try to follow the same tradition at our home. We usually visit my parents during Diwali and visit my in-laws during Pongal. At our home, we celebrate Tamil New Year, Ganesh Chaturthi, Karthigai Deepam and Christmas.
